William James

About me

I am a 27-year-old journalist beginning my career in the news industry. I currently work as a government bonds correspondent at Thomson Reuters, writing market reports on European sovereign debt.

I spent the 2008/9 studying at Cardiff University towards a Masters degree in International Journalism and upon completion undertook a financial journalism internship with Thomson Reuters in London.

Following this, I worked compiling and editing results for the Reuters sports desk. This role also involved managing the Reuters football website, producing content for blogs and a range of other administrative tasks.

I have an economics degree (2:1) from Lancaster University and maintain a strong interest in world economic issues. Specifically, I enjoy reading and writing about the current global crisis and related financial and international relations news.

On the right side of the page are links to my published work, and some assignments from my time at Cardiff University. These pieces are here to provide an impression of my interests and capabilities as a journalist. The samples are drawn from my spell with Reuters, assessed university assignments and my time spent working on the Wales Observer.

The main purpose of this site is to showcase my work as a journalist, but there is also a little bit about my education, work experience and other interests here.

If you wish to see my traditional-format CV please email me and I will be happy to supply a copy.
